Story behind my paintings

From my school days I used to draw. Later started painting and now, using computer trying to draw. Hope they will impress you.

                                                     Sri Kala Hasthi Eswara
Using editing of photographs collected from net, made this image. Lord Shiva has two sons, Ganesh and Subramanya Swamy. His wife, Parwathy Maa is a great devotee of Lord Shiva.  Once the family members of Lord Shiva had a discussion, among them who was the favourite devotee to Lord Shiva. Parwathy, Ganesh and Subramanya Swamy took the shapes of spider, elephant and snake and started worshiping Lord Shiva as Linga in their own way.
As the Linga was in open area, it is exposed to hot sun. So, Parwathy as a spider made a NET on Linga.
Subramanya took the shape of snake. In the form of snake, he collected precious diamonds and decorated them on Linga.
Ganesh believed that his father will be impressed by bathing. Ganesh in the shape of Elephant brought water in it's trunk and sprinkled the Linga.
The water forcedly removed the diamonds and destroyed the spider's NET. Highly depressed by the action of elephant, spider and snake started troubling him. Snake entered the elephants trunk, spider in its eye. With the pain generated, elephant strikes a rock hardly. With the stroke, all of them were dead. Lord Shiva pleased by their worship, stands before his family members. He showers blessings on them and makes the place they worshipped as a famous pilgrim named by their shapes: 'Sri Kala Hasthi'.

Celebrating Gandhi Jayanthi with promoting Khadi cotton.

Gandhiji regularly used to practise spinning, weaving cotton by charka and takli instruments. He fought for our independence and promoted the flag with three colours. Combining the processing of cotton with the flag promotion in Indian independence movement, I painted this picture. let's celebrate his birthday by wearing Khadi cotton wear.

                                                                   My Mom
My Mom is inspiration for this painting. At that moment, she is on phone. After completing the picture, she saw my work and impressed.

Devotee's position in his worshipped gods
A devotee started worshipping Lord Shiva. Lordess Parwathy is wife of Lord Shiva. By ' the concept of 'Artha[1] Nare[2] Eswara[3] ', she occupies half of the Lord's body. By another concept of 'Jagatah[4] Pitarou[5] Vandey[6] Parwathy Parameswara[7]' they become the parents of devotee. Hence, devotee is taken care by Lordess Parwathy as if an infant baby in the Mother's Woomb. As the devotee believes his Lord, Shiva occupies all his thoughts/ dreams/ blood. In a poetic way, the origin for the place of thoughts is considered as heart. In this way, Lord shiva is present in the devotees heart. All these feelings are represented in this diagram.

Meaning of the numbered References:
[1]Artha: means Half

[4]Jagatah: means Universe/ world/ environment
[5] Pitarou: means Parents/ care takers/ guardian

[7] Parameswara:is another name to Lord Shiva.

Tulasi
Tulasi is the herbal plant found in almost all the houses of Hindhu's. Among the 200 varieties, Krishna Tulasi (Plant with black leaves) and Lakshmi Tulasi (Plant with green leafs) are popular. This image is a photo editing skill of mine presented for representing the pooja done for Tulasi.  Lordess Lakshmi is worshipped as Lakshmi Tulasi in all festivals. Especially on Diwali, the festival of lights, a special worship for Lordess Lakshmi using the plant is performed. Many lamps are decorated on the day. Spending much time at the herbal plant enriches the oxygen levels in our body that results in good health.

 Naturally built 'Nature's Apartment'

In the way to school, I used to enjoy the shade and surroundings of a big tree. It used to be interesting to observe the shelter made by birds on trees. Many birds, as couples, families, along with their friends like squirrels used to live on the tree. Also it is decorated with flowers, creepers and at the roots it used to give shelter to rats, ants, earthworms etc. So, many families are living together based on the space provided by a single tree. As the principle is similar to the apartment we live, I named my drawing of tree as the natures' naturally built apartment.
